Welcome to Chrome Wheels and Rims!

One of the most important parts of customs wheels are the rims.  The use of the term “rim” is used incorrectly most times because it refers to only the outer portion of a wheel  not to the entire object. Rims are made out of numerous types of metal from iron to chrome.  Chrome wheels are very popular because they can be elaborate, flashy and a head turner.  When you are purchasing a new set of wheels for your vehicle it is important that you pay attention to the rims.

One rectangular sheet of metal is usually used to make a car rim.  The metal is then bent into a cylindrical shape and welded together.   The walls of the rim are pressed into the sides where the tire will be placed.  To support the structure of the rim a metal plated disc is made and fastened to the rim.  The tire is stretched around the rim, filed with the necessary amount of air and balanced.  It is then ready for your car.

These measurements should be taken into account to ensure the rim you choose is a good match for your vehicle:

  • Diameter: This measurement coincides with size of tire they have been made to hold
  • Width: Having the incorrect width will decrease your cars performance and may even cause a blow out
  • Type: This could be the brand, the look, etc.

Why would you choose Chrome Wheels?

  • Curb Appeal: A lot of people base their cars appeal on the rims or wheels. A shiny Chrome coating adds that extra touch to the car and allows it to reflect in the sun light
  • Construction:  Chrome wheels are usually constructed a bit better because they are actually aluminum with an additional chrome coating - making them stronger and more durable
